Cicada summer

The cicadas sing louder and louder, late in to the summer.  Right now they’re roaring outside my front door.  Sparrows chase them, looking like dogfighting Sopwith Camel biplanes trying to attack a fly.  Cicada killers chase them too–big fat black-and-gold hornets.  When a cicada killer catches a cicada, it stings it with this scary-monster-big stinger [...]
